We have a few more questions on nominations; if you replied to one of our previous posts (query post 1, query post 2) please check to see if we proposed a solution in response, and let us know if our proposed solution works for you. Ace Combat (Video Games) - WB: Ace combat 7 - Trigger's kangaroo court martial that happens in less than 3 weeks. seems to be a prompt for a specific story. May we rephrase it as a more open-ended worldbuilding prompt: “WB: Trigger’s court martial (Ace Combat)”? Or otherwise please help clarify what you are looking for here.

The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi - Shannon Chakraborty - For WB: whatever Raksh is and how he feeds (The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi), we're not sure if this is one or two concepts - please clarify?

Black Clover - Tabata Yuki (Anime & Manga) - WB: Platonic &/or Romantic Relationships Between Magic Knights of Different Squads (Black Clover) - could you clarify what you're looking for here? Are there particular rules around how different squads are meant to interact?

Books of the Raksura - Martha Wells - in the tag WB: History of Raksura and Hiss (Raksura), what is meant by “Hiss”?

Breakfast on Pluto (2005) - The following tags seem to relate to research of real-world communities rather than being something an exchange participant can invent - could you clarify what you're looking for here please? QB: Queer community in UK (Breakfast on Pluto (2005)), WB: Queer community in Ireland (Breakfast on Pluto (2005)).

Doctor Who (2005) - Could we get some clarification on the character tag The Master!Doctor (Ep: The Power of the Doctor) (DW 2005), please?

大梦归离 | Fangs of Fortune (TV) - WB: When did ZYZ's hair change (FoF) doesn’t seem open-ended enough to spark a worldbuilding response. Would something like: “What caused ZYZ's hair to change” make sense? We’d also like clarification on the tag WB: ZYZ: actually a white ape? discuss (FoF) - as his true form is canonically a white ape, we’re not sure what you’re asking for in terms of worldbuilding.

Harry Potter (Books 1-7) & Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling - after discussion, we are changing some existing nominations to "Harry Potter (Books 1-7)". Other Harry Potter nominators, could you please let us know if you'd prefer your nominations to go under Books 1-7, or something incorporating other parts of canon as well? Apologies - we realize that as the the canonical JKR tag was already approved, it may be difficult to change other nominations. We're happy to edit the tag set; just let us know which tags are yours. Homestuck - As Original Character(s) will be a character tag added to all fandoms, we’re not sure what WB: Original Characters is intended to be for - can you help us?

Also, would it be reasonable to restate WB: Type Field and Type Rule Embryos as WB: Types of Embryos (Infinite Dendrogram)? Or can you suggest a wording that is more clear?

• WB: Galley era and continental mercenary era 1542-1547 (Lymond Chronicles) appears to be a historical research request. Could you help us understand what you're looking for here and how this is a prompt for fictional invention rather than mainly research?


• For WB: Güzel's backstory (childhood on) - Ottoman slavery; seraglios; and the Sultanate of Women - is this a request to start at the end of Güzel's childhood, or from its beginning, and is it a request to explore these specific influences on her life or to explore her backstory more generally?


• For WB: Incorporating Early Modern science/magic/religious/folk beliefs into characters' worldviews - could you help us understand this? If it is a fix-it request to write the characters in a less modern way, it may be out of scope; would WB: Characters’ worldviews: influence of period's scientific/cultural beliefs (Lymond Chronicles) work?

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened (Video Game) - The tag WB: What is Jonathan (SH: Awakened) seems to relate specifically to the game Sherlock Holmes Chapter One - is Jonathan in The Awakened? If not, would it make sense to nominate as Sherlock Holmes (Frogware Video Games)?

天官赐福 - 墨香铜臭 | Tiān Guān Cì Fú - Mòxiāng Tóngxiù - We’d appreciate some help with a few of the nominated worldbuilding tags.

• WB: Fate and WB: Luck - are these particular concepts within this fandom? How do they differ? Could you give us a clearer phrasing that indicates what you’re thinking about here?


• WB: Cultivation - this was nominated in the character rather than relationship field and will not be added to the tag set, unless you’d like it to replace one of WB: Fate or WB: Luck.
Alternatively, another nominator has nominated WB: Administration of Ghost City (Tiān Guān Cì Fú) and WB: The Founding of Ghost City (Tiān Guān Cì Fú), so if you’d like it to replace WB: Ghost City we can do that instead.

X-Men - All Media Types - the tag WB: Family or friends with vastly different opinions than you (X-Men) is rather vague and more of a story prompt than a worldbuilding one. Could you narrow this down for us, please?

ETA: Star Wars - if you nominated any Star Wars fandom (Legends, Original Trilogy, Prequel Trilogy, or other), please check that your character tags are not wandering into other parts of the franchise! Even disambiguated tags may cause problems if they are already synonyms of existing canonicals. Not the nominator, but Luck and Fate are very distinct concepts in the TGCF fandom. Both are established as manipulable, in each case with major effects on the plot,, but not a lot of detail is given about the magical mechanics of either, so each is ripe for worldbuilding in its own way.

Nominator, the precious commenter is completely correct on the meaning and intent of he fate and luck nominations. I also nominated cultivation. Apologies for putting it in the wrong section. I am fine with cultivation replacing the nom for ghost city.

Now in the right place!
I noticed that some of the Star Wars tags don't have disambiguations, and they seem to be wandering all over the Star Wars universe (Legends, OT and PT). I'm not sure where they truly belong. Bail Organa doesn't appear and isn't named in the OT, and Admiral Ackbar and Wedge Antilles don't appear and aren't named in the PT, as far as I remember. Leia and Mon Mothma are in both the PT and the OT, and I think they might all appear in Legends - but someone with more encyclopaedic knowledge of the Star Wars universe should feel free to correct me!

Not the nominator but in Lymond Chronicles - Dorothy Dunnett, the protagonist was canonically a galley slave and mercenary for a few years when he was younger. Probably the tag "WB: Galley era and continental mercenary era 1542-1547 (Lymond Chronicles)" is intended to mean expanding on his experiences during this period.

I don't know if this is too pedantic, but I saw "WB: The Eruption of Mount Hephestia (Queen's Thief)" nominated. The canonical name for it is the Sacred Mountain or occasionally Hephestia's Sacred Mountain. While I think generally folks with canon familiarity will understand the reference, my gut feeling was that using a non-canon name would add a weird layer of expectations about what the requester wanted me to write. I defer to the mods about whether to change the tag name and I'll be fine either way, but I wanted to at least flag it.

Not the nominator, but regarding the Doctor Who character tag, in the episode in question, the Master and the Doctor somewhat fuse together into a third character, which is referred to as "the Master!Doctor" in fandom

.hack//GU -- yes I meant R:2, what an embarrassing brainfart.

As for the Infinite Dendrogram ones, there isn't actually any ambiguity in the term "High End" in the story. The AI NPCs, "tians", are capable of being spawned by the game systems with higher stats and rare unique skills, similar to high-level mobs or special enemies in other MMOs. The wiki is not very complete, as far as I remember the explanation for what exactly a High-End is was either in book 19 or 2o, with 21 volumes out in English, but they've been mentioned as far back as volume 13.

Also, no -- there are five main types of Embryo, with Type Rule Embryos often being evolved forms of Type Field Embryos and having similar characteristics. Rephrasing as you suggest would be a much more broad prompt.

Books of the Raksura is me, sorry, that was a very silly mistake and should be WB: History of the Raksura and Fell. (I was doing nominations next to my spouse playing Control, and uh. Apparently my wires got crossed.)

I'm also the Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened nominator, and that one is... complicated. So Jonathan only physically shows up (...insofar as he can physically show up) in Chapter One, but he is referenced several times in The Awakened (he's the reason Holmes and Watson speedrun their friendship, because Watson thinks when Holmes is calling out Jon in terror he's calling John). What I'd really like to see is Sherlock exploring what Jonathan is when Sherlock has been exposed to all of this eldritch stuff... none of which is in Chapter One. And changing it to just Frogwares' Holmes games would include a lot of games that aren't in continuity with these two, which are most assuredly in continuity with each other. I don't have a great answer and am happy with whatever you guys decide to do, including just yeeting the tag and sticking with the more clear-cut ones. Thanks so much!

Rephrasing is fine.

In canon, Trigger is falsely accused of killing Harling, received a guilty verdict, sent to a penal colony less than a month later, but ultimately he gets exonerated.

I was looking for anything from media coverage, to how martial law worked, to how Trigger approached it, to how/why the ones responsible arranged it.

In the event that he wasn't framed, the only possibility is that the evidence (planes have recordings on them) got lost somehow (in which case how?) and Trigger pleaded guilty (but why?).
