Mods, before I do my noms - last year 'J. R. R. Tolkien - Works and Related Fandoms' was approved as a separate fandom, in addition to a selection of the Middle-earth texts and the less well known canons. The justification was that there is a significant amount of shared worldbuilding, e.g. the concept of an overseas Elven-home in Roverandom, the Father Christmas Elves using the same script as the Middle-earth Elves, imagery and concepts in Smith of Wootton Major that are very similar to plotlines and characters from the Silmarillion, the character of The Man in the Moon appearing across a number of texts, etc.. Would you accept the umbrella fandom again on that basis?
